A little about Sasha and hormone health:
I am 22 and a psychology and neuroscience double degree student at one of the most prestigious colleges in the USA.
My passion stems out of my own experience surround periods, as I lost my period for over 3 years due to being a female athlete, over exercising, under eating, and being under the stress of high school. No coach asked me about it and when I went to a doctor they told me the only option was to go on birth control, but I chose not to. By the age of 17, I developed two autoimmune diseases, had multiple large injuries, and it wasn’t until 19 that I underwent holistic healing and regained it naturally.
My minor in neuroscience has sparked this drive of understanding the research of hormones and brain changes behind our periods, and my psychology major wants to understand how we as a society have pushed this topic under the rug for millennia.
A healthy, natural cycle is VITAL for our health, as our hormones interact with a multitude of other systems within the body. A natural period is a status of health, like a monthly report card of how our hormones and bodies are doing.
